1. All cars will pay entry fee. A heat will be assigned at that time. All cars must go thru a pre-race inspection.
Entry fee $40 and pit passes $20.
2. A release form and an insurance waiver will be signed and pit passes purchased by any and all before being allowed in pits.
3. No signature, no wristband: You will not be allowed in the pits.
4. No alcohol in the pits.
5. Minimum age 14 yrs. 14 - 17 year olds will need to sign release and waiver forms along with parent and/or guardian. Must be able to prove age.
6. At the end of the feature, first place, second place, and third place will remain on the track.
7. After feature all money and trophies will be handed out to the driver: Full size class.
8. After inspection, if a car is found to be illegal, the driver will forfeit pit, entry, heat and feature money.
DRIVER RULES:
1. Long sleeved shirt and long pants.
2. A DOT approved helmet a full face / visor/ glasses or goggles recommended.
3. The car you qualify in the heat with is the car you must take to the feature.
4. Sandbaggers not hitting or moving, because you cannot or will not, on a ten count will be counted out.
5. Any intentional driver’s door hits will also be black-flagged.
6. Driver’s meeting will be held approximately twenty minutes prior to the start of the derby.
7. At that time, anyone that has a complaint on another car entry shall voice it at that time.
8. Any fire, electrical, fuel or oil, only one will be allowed!
9. Black-flagged and or disqualified means you are done for the night.
CAR AND TRUCK RULES:
1. Sedans, two or four door, station wagons, mini vans, limos. No Sedagons. Trucks 5 or 8 lug single rear wheel-truck-suburban-bronco-blazer
2. Compacts / four cyl. 104” wb max. Mid size over 104” four and six cyl. No AMC pacers/ 4 wheel drives
3. No convertibles, imperials, subframe conversions.
4. All cars must have lap and /or shoulder and lap belt securely fastened.
5. All glass, inside and out, trim, grills; tail and headlights must be removed. No glass is to remain on the car! Do not break the glass inside the doors.
6. On sedans, rear seat, upper and lower must be removed.
7. On wagons both rear seats and decking must be removed.
8. Cut front and rear wheel wells, 5 bolts per wheel well 3/8 bolts & one inch diameter washers
9. One or two batteries, automotive type, are allowed. Batteries must be secured to the floor on the passenger side.
Must be covered and cover must be secured.
10. Driver’s door must be painted white and a 9x12 number plate on roof. Number must be large and readable.
11. Any roof ornamentation must be securely fastened or it will be removed.
12. From cowl to roof, two chains or flat iron securely fastened. Welded or bolted.
13. Rear ends: welded or lockers-mini spools etc. Sliders are permitted. 8 bolt pattern max may put chain around axle and frame loose.
14. Radiator & Core support: must be mounted in stock location - filled with water only. If it is not in the block or in the radiator it is not legal : If vehicle has no lower tie bar for radiator mounting, use a 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 1/4 angle welded lightly to frame and core support for radiator to sit on. If running without a hood, the fan or fan belt must be removed.
15. Hood: The hood must have one ten inch hole cut directly above or to the side of the carburetor. All hood latches must be removed. Header cut out-carb cut out 5 3/8 bolts & one inch diameter washers per hole. Hoods: 2 chains 5/16 max. wire- #9 max. in four places six loops max or 6 hood bolts: 2 welded to frame or through core support other 4 sheet metal to sheet metal. Bolts: 1” max. Washers: square or round 5 inch max. Choice of only one of these methods.
16. Doors: Front or rear driver or passenger doors, may be welded solid, outside only, max filler of 3 inch wide ¼ in thick may be used window openings maybe rolled and welded. Trucks may weld box to cab. You may use one chain per door, 5/16 max. or #9 wire with six loops max. Choice of only one of these methods.
17. Trunk lids: station wagons- two chains 5/16 max. or #9 wire in four places six loops max or weld 5 on 5 off 3 inches wide x ¼ in thick piece of flat No bolts. Sedans- Bolts: four places 1 in. max. May weld to frame. Washers: square or round 5 inch max. Wire-#9 max. in four places six loops max. 4 chains with 5/16 max.
Choice of only one of these methods. Trunks may be welded on 5 on 5 and rolled. Filler maybe used 3 inches wide x ¼ in thick max.
Truck tailgates may weld solid in and out.
18. Rear bumper: 4 chains 5/16 max. or #9 wire in 4 places fastened securely through trunk lid and/or frame. From end of frame ahead 12 inches, whatever it takes to mount a rear bumper, but there is a left and right mount to the bumper. Cannot weld chain links to bumper, but may weld or bolt to frame. May weld bumper seams. No stuffing the bumper. Trucks: car or truck bumper. NO DMI type.
19. All framework and hitches for towing must be completely removed.
20. Tires: only DOT car tires, radial or bias, re-treads allowed. Any ply highway mud or snow permitted. No split rims. 17 max-inch tires, with a 31 tall-inch max. 13 or 14 inch for compact or mid-size, with a 25 inch max. Doubling, tubing and filling are permitted. Cutting or grooving is permitted. No valve stem protectors on front or Rear drive tires. Absolutely no directional tires: tractor, skid loader, forklift or paddle tires on drive axle.
21. Gas tank: all gas tanks are to be removed from stock location. Equivalent to a marine tank / or approved fuel cell with a max of 5 gallons. Pump gas only. No alcohol allowed. All fuel lines, tanks, caps and connections must be leak-proof. All fuel lines from tank to motor must be secured from movement and away from exhaust and electrical wiring All fuel lines passing through holes and /or around sharp edges must be insulated and taped to avoid rupture. All cars and trucks with electric fuel pumps must have on/off switch mounted, easy to access and clearly marked, electric fuel pump on/off. Trucks if mounted in cab must be totally enclosed and covered.
Car and trucks all tanks secured and no movement. Must be securely mounted behind front seat on the floorboard and covered.
22. Brakes: All vehicles must have working brakes at time of inspection and will be checked again prior to heat, consolation and feature. No Brakes! No Entry!
23. Frame: Re- welding of seams will be allowed only from center of A frame ahead, top side only. No filling of the inspection holes. No filling or wrapping of frame allowed. No shortening of front or rear of frame. Can remove body mounts and bolts. Replacement bolts 1 in max and washers 5 inch max!!!! If body mounts are removed, must have at least a 1 inch spacer between body and frame, 2 extra body mounts cars 4 on trucks may be added, no adding metal or welding on frame in any manner to add mounts to frame. No pinning frame. Body bolt 8 inch length max. If bolts go thru bottom of frame must be loose to see up and in frame for inspection.
24. Front bumper: Non- shock bumpers may be replaced with shock type bumpers and mounts. All mounts to frame may be welded and shocks pushed back and welded. Two chains, 5/16 max, from top of frame, around bumper to the bottom of frame. May weld to secure to frame. Cannot weld chain links to bumper. May weld bumper seams. May put a piece of flat 3 inches wide x ¼ in thick 12 in long from top of bumper to top of frame. No stuffing the bumper.
25. Transmission: manual or automatic. Transmission coolers permitted only if: Steel / nylon reinforced rubber or braided steel hydraulic lines. Along with leak proof fittings. Cooler must be securely fastened behind passenger seat. Be prepared to run it back to the radiator stock or loop it off at the transmission if it does not meet approval.
26. Engines: Engines can be swapped; mounts may be made and welded in for mounting purposes, within 5 inches of stock location only, not as reinforcement. We will look real hard at these mounts! Exhaust must exit up or down. If exhaust breaks off head or flange inside engine compartment and poses a fire hazard the car will be black-flagged.
27. Suspension: 4 clamps per side-2 inch in width per clamp. May mount spring packs over or under axles. Top center of front bumper to top center of rear no more than 5 inches difference in bumper height. No spring spacers for coil or leaf, ball joints and tie rods may be bolted and reinforced. Stock old iron. Wagon packs 9 leaf max, stock sedan 7 leaf max. Trucks: 9 leaf 3” wide x 5/16 thick max.
Releafers: 80 and newer sedans/wagons including 78 and newer box style GMs wagons and sedans. 9 leafs on wagon, 7 on sedans 2 ½ x 5/16 max. The main is not shorter than 55 or 59 long bolt hole to bolt hole. All spring packs 1 main only min of 2 ½ stager. Bolting shackles to frame only - (shackles 4x6x3/8) max 1 bolt to mount shackle to frame, 1 bolt to main leaf and other end of shackle. No mounting spring directly to frame in rear, must be on bottom end of shackle NOT frame front eyelet of spring may go in lower trailing arm bracket with a 3x3 gusset to reinforce the lower bracket is permitted All cars releafed or not suspensions must have give and bounce No rock hard fronts or rears.
28. Seat and dash safety bar/ four point cage: For inside of car.2 or 4 point safety bars, square or round black, not galvanized 5 inch max, dash bar weld or bolted up next, in tight to dash. All bucket seats must have rear bar, all rear bars to be mounted within 4 inches of seat. Driver or passenger side safety bar mounted HORIZONTALLY ONLY, driver’s door, if installed, must be padded. may have 4 kickers from horizontal door bar not to block body mount and welded to the sheet metal ONLY and not to go through to the frame. A halo bar maybe put on roof down the sides and attached to 4 point cage 2 bolts to roof 5 inch washers max on inside. Driver’s front doors only may have a plate from bottom of window opening, 12 inches down to 6 inches in front of door to 6 inches past, weld solid of ½ inch max thickness.
29. All flat is flat steel, no grader or plow blades, and is no greater than ½ thick. Any chain used is 5/16 max. All Wire is #9. All bolts or all-thread is 1 inch max. All washers used anywhere are 5 inch max. No painting or undercoating inside of car or frame. No rewelding any body seams or fenders of any kind. No doubling of fenders-doors-hood-trunk panels - unless stated previously in the above rules. U or square bolts will be counted as 2 bolts.
30. These rules cover all chain, wire, bolts replaced anywhere; where and how they can be used to the max. Any extra, bring your torch or bolt cutters!!
